Control System Technician

Durisol Noise Barrier Systems is the market leader in the noise barrier and retaining wall industry. Our company designs and supplies materials for proprietary noise and retaining wall systems – including Durisol precast absorptive noise barrier panels, transparent noise barriers, fire-rated barriers, narrow footprint retaining walls and MSE retaining walls. We perform manufacturing and construction support for all our jobs.

Job Description

Mitchell Precast Inc. (Durisol) has an immediate opening for a Control System Technician. As a member of our Maintenance Group, this position will report to the Maintenance Manager. The applicant must be willing to work a bi weekly rotating day and afternoon shift schedule at our Manufacturing Facility in Mitchell, ON.

Job Requirements

  • Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair controls of automated production equipment and electrical equipment installations to correct operational errors and support continuous improvement initiatives
  • Must be able to read, understand and troubleshoot all machine documentation and programs
  • Understand the sequence of all automation in order to reduce downtime
  • Program/Modify, PLC programs, AC/DC and Servo Drives
  • Documented experience with RSLogix 500, RSLogix 5000 PLC software and Ethernet and DeviceNet networks
  • Design and construction of new electric circuits and electronic device integration
  • Maintain and ensure accuracy of electrical drawings and code
  • Independently perform mechanical work and assist mechanical personnel with their duties
  • Assist in documentation of all equipment
  • Communicate and document encountered problems, repairs, changes verbally as well as through effective use of AutoCAD, MSOffice, and MS Outlook
  • Participate in new equipment launch meetings and help support introduction of new technology, or new applications or programs for current equipment as required
  • Participate in developing and documenting reliable and efficient processes for new product or new application introductions as required
  • Ability to enter to the US as some periodic travel may be required

Qualifications

  • Completion of Post Secondary Education in Automation, Process Management, or an equivalent field
  • Some experience in an engineering, electrical/mechanical or technical capacity preferably in an automated manufacturing environment
  • Documented knowledge of electrical safety practices and safe use of a Multi-Meter to troubleshoot circuits up to 600 VAC
  • Strong electrical and mechanical troubleshooting skills
  • Eager to learn and share knowledge with proven ability to work in a team environment with all levels of personnel in the organization
  • Strong analytical, communication and interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrated ability to manage workloads/projects/assignments
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in English
  • Ability to work independently and as a team to problem solve together to achieve goals
  • Willingness to work overtime as needed
