Lafayette Group of Companies runs 11 facilities, including food processing factories, restaurants, and bakery stores. Our factories supply products to airlines, supermarkets, and restaurant chains.
About the Role
We are hiring a detail-oriented Payroll & HR Coordinator to handle full-cycle payroll and support daily HR operations. Ensures compliance with Ontario Employment Standards Act, CRA rules, and company policies while providing quick support to employees and management. Ideal for someone who works well in a fast-paced setting, maintains strict confidentiality, and knows Ontario employment standards.
Key Responsibilities Payroll
- Process full payroll cycles (hourly & salaried)
- Maintain records: hires, terminations, rate changes, deductions
- Calculate overtime & statutory holiday pay
- Prepare and remit CPP, EI, income tax, benefits, garnishments
- Issue ROEs, T4s, year-end filings & WSIB reporting
- Verify payroll accuracy & compliance
HR
- Manage employee files and data accuracy
- Full-cycle recruitment for plant roles: post jobs, screen resumes, schedule interviews, check references
- Run new-hire orientation & onboarding
- Track vacation, leaves, and ESA entitlements
Qualifications
- 1–3 years payroll experience
- Strong knowledge of Canadian / Ontario payroll & employment laws
- Experience with ADP, QuickBooks or similar payroll software
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
- High attention to detail and accuracy
- Excellent confidentiality, communication & organization skills
- PCP designation or in progress is an asset
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: $40,000.00-$51,000.00 per year
