Production Associate

Newmarket, ON, Canada Full Time
Compensation: $17.95 to $19.50 Hourly

Position Summary

The Production Associate is responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of production machines while maintaining the highest quality standards. This role involves packing manufactured plastic products , performing quality checks, and supporting overall production efficiency in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Accurately and efficiently pack manufactured products (lids and containers)
  • Inspect products for quality defects (e.g., short shots, warping, black spots, witness marks, long gates)
  • Remove and segregate defective products; report issues to the Shift Supervisor
  • Perform quality checks on each stack (top and bottom) before bagging
  • Apply appropriate packaging, seal bags, and place products into designated bins
  • Ensure correct bin placards are used for each order
  • Count and record packed product quantities during each shift
  • Remove leftover parts from machines, tables, and conveyors before starting new orders
  • Dispose of scrap parts properly; weigh and document as required
  • Print boxes and labels using the Dynamics system
  • Maintain a clean and organized workstation at all times
  • Clean spills (oil, water, resin, parts) promptly to ensure safety
  • Report hazards, incidents, or accidents immediately
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor

Qualifications & Skills

  • Minimum Grade 12 or equivalent
  • Basic math and computer skills
  • Ability to follow instructions and work independently
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to differentiate between colors and shades
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills in English
