Mechanical Engineer (Design & Project Execution)
We are seeking a talented Mechanical Engineer (Design & Project Execution) to join our engineering team. In this role, you will design, analyze, and develop custom industrial equipment and mechanical components while working closely with engineering, manufacturing, quality, and operations teams. You will be involved in projects from concept through manufacturing, contributing to innovative, reliable, and cost-effective solutions for demanding industrial applications.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and develop mechanical components, assemblies, and systems using SolidWorks or similar 3D CAD software.
- Create detailed engineering drawings, models, and technical documentation for manufacturing.
- Perform engineering analyses, including stress, fatigue, thermal, tolerance, and design evaluations to ensure product performance and reliability.
- Prepare engineering calculations, technical reports, specifications, and supporting documentation.
- Collaborate with manufacturing, quality, and operations teams to ensure designs are practical, efficient, and manufacturable.
- Participate in design reviews and provide technical recommendations throughout all phases of project development.
- Support prototype builds, testing, validation, troubleshooting, and product improvements.
- Assist with project planning, scheduling, and execution to ensure project milestones and deliverables are achieved.
- Ensure designs comply with applicable engineering standards, codes, and customer requirements.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives focused on product quality, performance, and manufacturing efficiency.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
- Registered as, or eligible to register as, an Engineer-in-Training (EIT) with Professional Engineers Ontario (PEO); progress toward obtaining a P.Eng. designation is considered an asset.
- 3–5 years of experience in mechanical design, product development, or industrial equipment engineering.
- Proficiency with SolidWorks or similar 3D CAD software.
- Experience performing engineering analysis, including Finite Element Analysis (FEA), is preferred.
- Strong understanding of mechanical design principles, manufacturing processes, and engineering standards.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and work effectively in a collaborative, cross-functional environment.
