Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Electrician with a strong background in industrial automation, PLC troubleshooting, and electrical maintenance to support our manufacturing operations. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing production equipment to ensure maximum uptime, reliability, and safety. Experience in a food manufacturing or bakery environment is highly preferred.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform preventative maintenance, repairs, and servicing on production equipment.
- Troubleshoot and repair electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and automation-related issues to minimize equipment downtime.
- Diagnose and repair PLC-controlled systems, Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs), and industrial automation equipment.
- Read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation.
- Assemble, rebuild, install, and adjust production machinery and equipment.
- Perform basic welding and machining as required.
- Ensure all equipment operates safely and efficiently while following company safety standards.
- Adhere to Health & Safety regulations, including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records and complete work orders.
- Collaborate with maintenance and production teams to improve equipment reliability and operational efficiency.
- Perform other maintenance-related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Valid 442A Industrial Electrician or 309A Construction & Maintenance Electrician license.
- Minimum 4 years of industrial maintenance experience as a licensed electrician.
- Previous experience in food manufacturing, preferably within a bakery environment, is an asset.
- Refrigeration Class "B" certification or Industrial Electrical license is considered an asset.
Required Skills
- Strong experience with PLC troubleshooting (Ladder Logic), Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs), and industrial automation systems.
- Extensive knowledge of industrial electrical systems, electronics, and control systems.
- Solid mechanical troubleshooting skills, including welding and basic machining.
- Ability to diagnose and resolve equipment failures quickly and efficiently.
- Strong understanding of preventive maintenance practices.
- Thorough knowledge of Health & Safety regulations and Lockout/Tagout procedures.
- Ability to read electrical drawings and technical manuals.
- Excellent problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a maintenance team.
- High attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
