Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Maintenance Supervisor to lead a skilled maintenance team in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This position is responsible for supervising daily maintenance operations, driving preventative and corrective maintenance activities, improving equipment reliability, and ensuring maximum production uptime. The ideal candidate has a strong technical background in mechanical, electrical, automation, PLCs, and industrial maintenance, along with proven leadership experience in manufacturing. Candidates with only building/facility maintenance experience will not be considered.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise daily maintenance operations to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient production.
- Coordinate preventative maintenance (PM), corrective maintenance, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement projects.
- Provide leadership, coaching, training, and performance evaluations for maintenance technicians.
- Conduct daily shift handover meetings, assign work orders, communicate priorities, and review project updates.
- Manage maintenance schedules, staffing, overtime approvals, vacation planning, and Dayforce updates.
- Monitor maintenance costs, labor utilization, and overtime to support cost containment initiatives.
- Perform workplace inspections to ensure compliance with Health & Safety regulations, GMP standards, and company policies.
- Troubleshoot complex mechanical, electrical, automation, and control system issues.
- Collaborate with Production, Engineering, and Reliability teams to improve equipment performance and minimize downtime.
- Promote a strong safety culture and lead by example in all maintenance activities.
Qualifications
- Post-secondary education in Engineering or a related technical field is preferred.
- Minimum 5 years of maintenance supervisory experience in a manufacturing/production environment.
- Food manufacturing or bakery industry experience is considered a strong asset.
- Proven experience supervising licensed trades such as Industrial Mechanics (Millwrights), Industrial Electricians, Control Technicians, or Reliability Technicians.
- Manufacturing maintenance experience is required; candidates with only building/facility maintenance backgrounds are not suitable.

- Strong troubleshooting skills in mechanical and electrical systems.

- Working knowledge of CMMS software and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Strong analytical, organizational, leadership, and communication skills.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced manufacturing environment with changing priorities.
- Demonstrated commitment to workplace safety and continuous improvement.
