Maintenance Mechanic

Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Mechanic to support the reliability and performance of production equipment in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This night shift position is responsible for performing preventive and predictive maintenance, troubleshooting equipment failures, completing repairs, and implementing permanent solutions to improve equipment reliability. The successful candidate will work closely with Maintenance and Engineering teams while following all food safety, health, and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on production equipment and facility systems.
  • Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and automated equipment to minimize downtime.
  • Complete assigned maintenance work orders and preventive maintenance tasks using a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
  • Accurately document repairs, root cause analysis, and corrective actions for equipment failures.
  • Provide timely maintenance support during regular, off-shift, and weekend operations as required.
  • Assist in improving maintenance processes, work order systems, and equipment reliability.
  • Collaborate with Maintenance and Engineering teams to implement permanent solutions for recurring equipment issues.
  • Support the development of maintenance procedures, one-point lessons, and competency-based training programs.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and technical projects.
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings, technical manuals, and maintenance procedures.
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment while adhering to all Health & Safety and food safety regulations.
  • Perform additional maintenance duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Licensed Millwright (433A) preferred, or a Diploma/Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Robotics, Maintenance Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • Experience performing industrial maintenance in a manufacturing or food production environment.
  • Experience using CMMS to manage work orders and preventive maintenance schedules.
  • Experience with preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance programs.

Required Skills

  • Strong mechanical troubleshooting and repair skills.
  • Ability to diagnose equipment failures and perform root cause analysis.
  • Knowledge of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and automated systems.
  • Ability to read engineering drawings, technical manuals, and maintenance documentation.
  • Strong understanding of preventive and predictive maintenance practices.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
  • Excellent communication, teamwork, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, deadline-driven manufacturing environment.
  • Strong commitment to workplace safety, food safety, and continuous improvement.
