Position Overview

We are seeking a licensed Industrial Mechanic Millwright (433A) to join a growing manufacturing operation in Sarnia, Ontario. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, repairing, and improving production equipment to ensure maximum reliability and efficiency. This role requires strong mechanical aptitude, welding and fabrication skills, and experience working with industrial processing equipment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on production equipment.
  • Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain sorting, shredding, granulation, and extrusion equipment.
  • Repair and maintain bearings, gearboxes, belt conveyors, and other mechanical systems.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical equipment.
  • Perform welding and fabrication as required.
  • Complete basic electrical maintenance, including motor wiring and related repairs.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, manuals, and equipment specifications.
  • Monitor equipment performance and identify opportunities for reliability improvements.
  • Complete maintenance projects and equipment installations.
  • Ensure compliance with all safety regulations, Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures, ISO standards, and company policies.
  • Report equipment failures, process deviations, and unsafe conditions promptly.
  • Collaborate with production and maintenance teams to minimize downtime.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records and documentation.

Qualifications

  • Valid 433A Industrial Mechanic (Millwright) Red Seal Certificate of Qualification.
  • High School Diploma or College Diploma.
  • Strong welding and fabrication experience.
  • Excellent mechanical troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience maintaining conveyors, gearboxes, bearings, hydraulic systems, and industrial processing equipment.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and manuals.
  • Previous experience in a manufacturing, plastics, recycling, or industrial processing environment is considered an asset.
  • Strong commitment to workplace safety.
  • Must be willing and able to work rotating 12-hour shifts.
